Fan Report from being an Extra in the Whirlwind Girls 2015/05/13~19
Saw an old fan report from the Whirlwind Girls period. YY recognized his fan by face. So nice!

I went to visit the shooting site, worked as an extra (background actor) for a couple of days, and went home. Stayed home for a couple of days, looking at the pictures from reuters and fans visiting him, I couldn't help but got on the train to Changsha to meet up with Han (her friend who was also there), and signed up to be extras again. We signed up from 5/15~5/19 (they didn't need extras on 5/17, Han went home on 5/16 night by train, but couldn't control herself and returned to Changsha early morning on 5/17😂)
This time, the shooting was in the studio. They only need 20 extras every day; 10 female extras, and 10 male extras. All the scenes were about watching/cheering for Songbai Martial Arts Gym. During these several consecutive days being the extras, the two of us had been obedient and followed all the arrangements. When they did close-up shots and didn't need the extras, we would hide somewhere that the camera couldn't see and took naps. One time we got woken up by the executive director when we slept on the floor with our backs facing each other. (We were so embarrassed🙈)
We've been shooting till 11PM~midnight every night during those days, and we had to start at 6~7AM the next morning, so we were really sleep deprived. Of course, the actors worked harder than us. So, at the shooting location, people saw the two of us as part-timers who were there to make some extra money, not what they called "fans who sneaked in as extras."😂😂
Because when YY did close-up shots, extras were not needed. So, we either went to the restroom, or we took naps, unlike some people who stayed at the studio to watch YY working. Sometimes extras only had one or two scenes a day, so most of the time we just too naps. The only sounds that could wake us up were the executive director calling "All extras, come over here!", and the director saying "OK, meal time, meal time."
It was actually pretty nice to be extras during those days. Extras and the actors all changed in one big room; actors had their makeup done on the 1st floor, and they changed on the 2nd floor. Extras also changed on the 2nd floor. Sometimes we'd see YY having his makeup done or his hair blow dried.
YY learned very quickly. During Songbai's internal tryout, Rui Bai fought against Yang Rui. The martial art advisor demonstrated the action once, and YY basically got it down completely. He was also super handsome when he seriously focused on learning. Being a Virgo, if he felt it was not good enough after reviewing his own performance that was shot just then, he'd request to do it again. The shooting site atmosphere was often times pretty fun and happy, so YY would laugh and the scene became a blooper. He was super cute. Too bad we couldn't record any video there😐
During the several days Han and I came to be the extras, we did not say hi to YY. Because we told the group leader that we were not fans, so that he would let us work as extras. Therefore, we did not dare to fangirl YY in front of the group leader😂 But on 5/18 evening after dinner, we went to the restroom to get some tissues. But on our way back, we ran into YY and couldn't help but say hi to him. We said "Yang Yang", and he said "hi" with a smile. And we came back out immediately. I was relatively calm, but Han was charmed by YY's smile and got super excited.
Maybe my luck was saved for the afternoon of 5/19. The dinner was served before 6PM that afternoon (it was really super early; the sky was not even dark yet). I was the first to rush out to get my box meal (because I looked forward to meal time everyday since I came to work as an extra😂). Because my hands got oily due to some liquids dripped from the box meal, I went to the restroom to wash my hands. When I came out, I saw YY walking toward my direction with the assistant jie jie (older sister) behind him. There was nobody else at that time. So, I walked while hesitating whether I should say hi to him...
When I got closer, I still couldn't help but said "Yang Yang". I did not dare to be too loud, so I just called his name softly. YY looked at me and nodded; his smile was so sweet. As I was preparing to walk toward the door on the left, Yang Yang stopped me with his voice🙈 I turned around, and he asked me "Didn't you live in Shenzhen? How come you still haven't gone home?" My heart skipped; he actually knew that I've been here all this time😳 I replied: "because you are here." He smiled even more sweetly and asked "Then, when are you going back?" I said a bit excitedly: "I'll return tomorrow. Oh, no, tonight. I'm returning tonight." (Because I actually bought the train ticket for 1AM departure) He looked at me and nodded with satisfaction.
And what followed was that he went to the restroom, and I went back to have my box meal. Typically, I could eat two big steamed buns with side dishes, but today, I couldn't even finish one steamed bun😂
The luckiest thing was to know you; the thing that I regretted the least was to be your fan; the happiest thing was to be your fan!
I don't want to talk about how long I've liked you and idolized you, but following you is already part of my daily live. Maybe the way I like/support you has changed due to my work, but my heart felt the same!
Meeting you is my happiness. Being able to do something for you gives me the most satisfaction!

Knowing the one you like took notice of you is a wonderful experience. Knowing that he knew where you came from was definitely a thrilling experience. Not everybody can experience such happiness in his/her life. This fan is a lucky girl😊🍀
