YY: Hello, friends of CCTV
I am Yang Yang
I played Han Li in drama TIA

Q: As a classic IP
the process of drama adaptation of TIA was highly anticipated
Did you have any pressure?

YY: There was certainly pressure
Because TIA is an IP
that has a lot of followers
I have also watched the anime
Our production
actually carries
very high expectations of many people
So, I wanted to turn the pressure into motivation
and I hope
more people can enjoy our drama version of
TIA

Q: What's the biggest difference
between Han Li and
all the other roles in the past?

YY: I think the biggest difference is that the character
Han Li has a base-color of an ordinary person
Basically, two words "ordinary people"
There are
complexity and growth in this character

Q: So, during the process of preparing this character,
what was the biggest difficulty?

YY: Actually
when we started to shoot the beginning portion of the story
since Han Li was boy from the mountains
he had to
show some youthfulness
I remember when I first finished shooting
the first scene of Han Li's youth period
in his youthful look
The director came over and told me...
because she actually didn't
really have a very concrete
image
whether we can achieve
the youthful feeling very well
But after that scene
the director came over and said
"aiya, very youthful!"
So, I felt at ease

Q: Because I've seen the youth period Han Li
actually having a lot of minor expressions
and some slight movement that very much
conveyed the youthfulness feeling you just mentioned
These are the details that you added
when you prepared for this role

YY: Yes, I even gave Han Li
a little bit of "sneaky-ness"
because Han Li
was a rather inexperienced person
At the beginning
he was oppressed by the struggle of survival
He really did not know much
about anything in the outside world
But he was almost
"taken" by Dr. Mo at the end, right?
After that
he kind of grew up a bit, thanks to Dr. Mo, too.
After listening to Dr. Mo's words, he went on an adventure
to see the world outside
and finally
walk on the cultivation path step by step

Q: When you watched the drama,
did you secretly sent some comments?

YY: I usually am the one reading the comments
Reading the review of the netizens
There was one comment that I saw was really good
I meant, a comment that was really interesting was
"Can Han Li possibly be from ShanDong?"
Because Han Li ate wraps and green onions/leeks in the youth period
I think this point/meme is very interesting

Q: In the episodes shown so far
Han Li ran into many dangers, but he always escaped unscathed
What do you think are his ways of survival and his philosophy of life?

YY: I think
it's like the 8-word proverb by Dr. Mo
"Concealing skill in clumsiness, using obscurity to reveal clarity"
I think this also help Han Li developed his
personality of
"conceal your abilities and bide your time; know when to advance and when to retreat"

Q: In the process of Han Li's growth
which experience did you like the most?

YY: I personally liked his experience
in the Yellow Maple Valley more
(I think the experience in Yellow Maple Valley) <-- no Chinese caption
contained some warm-colored memories
Although it was short and precious
