Dialog with Youth
In order to capture the "youth" specifically belonging to "The Dream of Red Mansions" cast, our editors prepared more than a hundred pieces of clothes and accessories. And the 8 main cast members took an early flight to come back to Beijing, looking tired. "We could only sleep 4 hours a day." Although the average age is less than 23 years old, their energy seemed to be drained due to lack of sleep. During one on one interviews, a bit unorganized/lay back, had a little discussion, had a bit of doubts, and a bit touchy feelings. Only until they changed into the outfits and started shooting this set of photo did we find we were fooled by them. We just realized youth is like a spring, they recover/spring back with style.

ELLE: Why did the director chose you (for the role of Jia Baoyu)?
YY: Maybe because I was very pure. PLA has very strict requirement. Not a lot of opportunities to come out to interact with the outside world.
ELLE: Did anybody ever complimented your acting?
YY: After I finished shooting Baoyu's wedding scene, the director said "the audience will think this is the Baoyu they have in mind". I was pretty happy to hear that.
ELLE: What kind of love story do you like?
YY: I like the love stories in "Titanic" and "Avatar", the kind the one was willing to give up life for the other. The love that's earth-shattering that gave me strong impact/shock.
ELLE: Although Baoyu was surrounded by many beautiful girls, he only had one soulmate in his life. If we give you a multiple choice question, what would you rather have? A. having an earth-shattering love relationship; B. having a female soulmate.
YY: I would choose to have a soulmate. Because soulmate is even more rare than earth-shattering love.

ELLE: Do you like the outfit of blazer plus jeans that you're wearing now?
YY: Actually we usually wear similar to this when we go out to exercise. We often wear a blazer and just coordinate casually with a pair of jeans.
ELLE: Young Baoyu's sylte idol is Chen Guanxi (Edison Chen). Is it the same for you?
YY: He's alright. I've seen many movies by Chen Guanxi, but I like Shawn Yue Man Lok (余文乐) even more.
