I feel tired for Zhan Zhao.

I think perfection sometimes means one-sidedness.

Looking back, it seems like it went by pretty fast. Actually, I was quite reluctant to leave when filming wrapped.

Let the audience decide.

[YY: 99% knight] (not sure how to translate 俠客)

Q: An impressive scene from the trailer?

[YY playing the role of Zhan Zhao]

YY: I think it was the scene at the end

where Zhan Zhao stood in the snow

supported by his sword

Actually, Zhan Zhao had already

found out the truth

at that time

right after a desperate battle

After he beat the biggest enemy

He could finally really

unload his heavy burden

I would feel tired for Zhan Zhao

Although himself didn’t feel tired

when he was chasing down the case

But I actually feel sorry for him.

Because of the duel identities he has

in the jiang hu

and in the government system

He really needed

a balance point

He needs to deal with a lot of things

Because Zhan Zhao

is not a particularly talkative person

He kept it all to himself

He didn’t express much publicly

Many people like this

internalize their own problems

They are also lonely

So I think there’s another term

We can use

“Lone Courage”

to represent Zhan Zhao

0:57

Q: How did you feel when receiving the offer for this character?

YY: after hearing about this

For me

I felt really excited and happy

And I wanted to

settle down

and play the role Zhan Zhao well

1:08

Q: What did you know about this character before?

YY: My earliest understanding was that

he was a combination of a chivalrous knight and a bodyguard

He can

settle scores quickly in the martial arts world

and he can also shoulder heavy responsibilities in the imperial court

He is a very special

chivalrous hero

(Skipped 1:24~1:40)

1:40

The Zhan Zhao this time

might be more multifaceted

Faced with the injustices of the world

and with his dual identity

as a chivalrous knight and an government official

he, too, experienced self-doubt

He had confusion

He would struggle

He pondered deeply

He worked tirelessly

to uphold justice for the people

The feeling of being in the imperial court

but having one's heart set on the martial world

that contradiction and unity

is what I felt

the most fascinating

For example, in the first few episodes

the story where Zhan Zhao was

protecting Chang Hong Bi

At that time, Zhan Zhao actually

had got poisoned

But he never once had the thought of

taking advantage of Chang Hong Bi to survive

Zhan Zhao is a person

who is capable of sacrificing his life

for righteousness

I find this kind of forbearance

and self-control

to be the most moving

2:25

Q: What kind of preparation did you do for the fight scenes in this drama?

YY: In fact, many of the moves

are from traditional martial arts

Zhan Zhao’s moves

include duel-hand sword style

and some are expressed using

Hong Quan boxing style

And before we joined the group

we would train with professional martial trainers

to practice the moves

to do specific weight and condition trainings

2:44

Q: what stories are there with the “iron triangle”?

YY: The three of us

really experienced a lot In this drama

(Skipped 2:49~2:53)

From each having their own inner thoughts at the beginning

To testing each other

And later on

entrusting each other with their backs

when on the run

I think the progression from unfamiliarity

to trust

is actually quite heartwarming

3:07

Q: How to break the “perfection” image and create the arc of character growth?

YY: I think perfection

sometimes means one-sidedness

He is not omnipotent/invincible

it is these scars and limits

that made Zhan Zhao feel real

Rather than a perfect hero

I'd actually prefer

to portray him as

a 99-point chivalrous knight

I think that one point short

perfectly captures

the most authentic arc of his humanity

3:30

Q: What are the similar and dissimilar points between Zhan Zhao and tye roles you played in the past?

YY: The discipline and purity

of those past characters

do resonate

with the role of Zhan Zhao

in some way

[resonance]

(Skipped 3:37~3:42)

3:42

YY: I think Zhan Zhao’s loyalty

comes from his understanding

of the rules of the court

and his willingness to take on that burden

I feel that this kind of silent burden

is something I haven't played before

TIA

And YLL

both had quite some level of difficulties

during shooting

But during filming

I was very happy

Thank you all for your recognition

I will continue to calm down

and focus on

performing each scene well

4:12

Q: If Zhan Zhao were to sent a message to his friend group, what would it be?

YY: I think it could be

a group picture

Because even though Zhan Zhao

Is not good at expressing his feeling verbally

But he would put all his caring and emotion in his heart

And cherish the friendship from

wandering the jiang hu together  during this period of time
