我们从侧面记录了杨洋挥别少年的过程,但这还不是最终的答案。

毫无防备的时候

能看到一个自知的少年杨洋

但留给他的松懈不多了

When he was not on defense
we can see a self-aware boyish YY
but not much slack was left for him


杨洋行色匆忙。在虹桥机场候机的间隙,他睡着了。

YY was busy with tight schedule. He fell asleep when waiting for his flight at the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.


航班预计 21 点起飞,顺利的话,他有半小时用来打盹 —— 就杨洋现在的工作密度而言,30 分钟很奢侈了。他今年 27 岁,习惯了周而复始的舟车劳顿,也学会了见缝插针的休整。换句话说,体力成了他现在必须考虑的东西,甚至意味着在某些方面,他该惜力了。

The flight is set to depart at 9PM. If everything goes well, he has 30 min to take a nap. Considering the work density YY currently has, 30 min is luxury. He is 27 years old. He's used to going from places to places constantly, and he's also learned to rest even if there's only a very short break. In other words, his physical energy becomes something he needs to consider now. This even means, in some aspects, he should cherish and reserve his energy.


但杨洋不懂惜力。从军艺习舞开始,他就被反复教导如何在可承受的范围内克服身体的惰性。《武动乾坤》的导演张黎回忆,拍摄现场,杨洋经常请求「再来一次」,并不计较体力成本。而另一方面,他又玩心未泯,8 小时的封面拍摄后,抖音团队来访,邀请他录制一段短视频。他兴致高涨地设计了剧情 —— 一个在镜头前耍帅的偶像被忍无可忍的女助理扛走。这让他乐不可支。

But YY didn't know to reserve his energy. Since his PLA time, he was taught repeatedly how to overcome the laziness in human body to the extent his body can endure. Direction of "Martial Universe", Zhang Li, recalled YY often requested "let's do it again!" during shooting without considering how much it would cost his energy. And on the other side, he was still naughty. After 8 hours of photo shooting for the magazine cover, Douyin team came and invited him to record a short video. He designed the story excitedly -- an idol showing off his good look in front of the camera got carried away on the shoulder of his female assistant who couldn't stand him anymore. He was super amused.


成长教育和天性共同构成了杨洋今天的面孔:这是一个生理机能脱离了少年阶段,但心理驱动依旧与之相互依偎的男人。事实上,如果不把「少年」视作一种陈词滥调,那么在世俗格局的度量下,杨洋的确有少年气,只不过他很难肆无忌惮地流露。

Education as he grew up and his nature collectively created Yang Yang's appearance today: This is a man who has out grown the boyish/juvenile period physically, but the psychological drive still linked to the younger self. In fact, if we don't consider "boyish" a cliche, then, under the measure of secular pattern, YY indeed has that boyish feel, except that it is difficult for him to show that recklessly.


「它(少年气)是一种状态,是那种可以毫无防备地把平常表现出来的状态。」他说。

「It (boyish) is a state, the kind where you can show your normal self without any defense. 」He said.


留给杨洋的毫无防备不多了。他的行程动态一查即知,私下也必须戴口罩。他偶尔深夜逛超市,图个解压,但说白了,不过是一间 24 小时营业的便利店。「直播」这回事,很早以前就已经作用在了杨洋身上,或者说,每一个名利场宠儿都无一例外地向公众直播了他们的成长史。

There's no much left for YY to be himself without any defense. His schedule can be searched up online. He must wear a mask in private. He sometimes went shopping at the supermarket to decompress, but, to be honest, it was just a 24 hr convenient store. "Live Broadcast" has been used on YY since long ago, or maybe we should say, every Vanity Fair darling, without exception, broadcasted their growth history to the public.


采访是在候机休息室进行的。初见杨洋,白 T 恤,黑短裤,深灰色的口罩还挂在他下巴上。他不是那种辩才无碍的人,很多问题都要像棋手般「长考」,搜肠刮肚又字斟句酌。这种慢,既是诚恳,也是经职业锻炼形成的条件反射 —— 这时候,你看不到他的少年气。

The interview took place at the airport waiting room. First look at YY; white T-shirt, black shorts, and a gray mask was pulled down to cover his chin. He is not a person with eloquence; he took long consideration like playing chess when answer questions, searching his mind and choosing his words carefully. Not only does this kind of "slow" show his sincerity, but it is also conditioned reflexes formed through training being in this profession. During this time, you cannot see the boyish YY.


我们的对话从即将上映的电视剧《武动乾坤》开始。依旧是 IP 巨制,一个杨洋会做的选择。在资本市场,受众广泛的 IP 剧加杨洋几乎等于双重的流量保证,但与以往不同的是,《武动乾坤》的导演是以历史正剧闻名的张黎。

Our conversation started from the TV drama "Martial Universe" that is about to air. It is still a big IP production, a choice YY would make. In the capital market, a widely-read IP drama plus Yang Yang is almost a double guarantee of traffic, but what is different from the past is that the director of "Martial Universe" is Zhang Li who is famous for directing serious historical dramas.


和张黎合作超过一年,他对杨洋赞誉有加,说他是「小戏疯子」。戏疯子不是癫,而是痴和忘我。复述这个评价的时候,杨洋连声「不敢当」。此刻,他神色松弛,背部自然地弓着,双手搭在脚踝上,两腿交叉,与银幕上的他不太一样:眼前的他,成了自知的少年。

After collaborating with each other over an entire year, Zhang Li praised YY highly and said he (YY) is a "little crazy actor" (an actor who's crazy about acting). A crazy actor does not mean insane, but obsession and selflessness. When Director Zhang Li reiterated these compliments, YY said "I don't deserve it" repeatedly. At this moment, he looked relaxed, his back naturally hunched, both hands laid on his ankles with his legs crossed. It is a bit different from him on the big screen. The one in front of our eyes has become a self-aware boyish YY.


他还是喜欢聊作品。说起初出茅庐之作 —— 李少红版《红楼梦》,他一直面带笑意,仿佛关于宝玉的记忆能把他带回正值少年的岁月。我问他,相比起来,现在的成长何在。他说年少时身上带刺,对事情的判断会更感性;现在内心成长了,负面的东西会倾向于独自消化。

He still likes to talk about his works. When speaking of his debut work -- "Dream of the red chamber" directed by Li ShaoHong, he always had a smile on his face, as if the memories about BaoYu can bring him back to his teenage years. I asked him, comparing to the past, where is the growth now? He said that when he was young, he easily agitated and was more emotional in his judgment of things; now that he has grown up, he tends to digest negative things alone.


这是一次与时代精神无心插柳的呼应:当下的少年感,少不了这种饱经沧桑却依然怀揣锋芒的层次 —— 沧桑什么?只需浏览社交网络上关于杨洋的评判就可略知一二,「那个杨洋」和网络检索的高频词异常吻合 —— 人人都肯定他的皮囊,但也不乏对他演技的恶评。更何况,桑不止于此。

This is an unintentional response to the spirit of the current time/generation/age/era: the boyish feel we see now is inseparable from the layer of experiencing vicissitudes (ups and downs) but still keeping his sharp edges. -- What are vicissitudes? You can get a rough idea just browsing the comments about YY on SNS. "That YY" and the high frequency words on web search matched too well -- His appearance was highly regarded by people, but there were also bad reviews about his acting. And there are more than that.


私心讲,杨洋少年的一面,比镜头前的高冷可爱得多。

Privately speaking, YY's boyish side is much cuter than his cool side in front of the camera.


杨洋自己也明白。他半开玩笑地自嘲,之前确实演了一些角色,让观众觉得他面无表情,「装」。如果有重来一次的机会,他会放下忐忑,不走极端。但在心底,不同趣味的角色都尝试一下,是他真切的愿望。

YY himself also understood that. He half jokingly teased himself that he did play a few roles previously that made the audience feel he had no facial expression and pretense. If there's a chance to do it again, he would let go of the uncertain/uneasy feeling/worries and not take the extreme route. But deep down, trying out different interesting roles is his sincere wish.


《从你的全世界路过》的技术宅「茅十八」就是杨洋喜欢的角色,不再是单一的酷,「有更接地气和生活化的部分」。《武动乾坤》的「林动」也并非正儿八经的男主角,有诙谐,有邋遢,以及一些离经叛道的东西。这些角色能让他充分卸下颜值的包袱,把日益增长的人生阅历和持续累积的表演经验融汇其中,从而把控更大的挑战。

The tech-nerd "Mao ShiBa" in the movie "I belonged to you" is a role YY likes. It was no longer just cool, but "he is more down-to-earth and closer to real life". The main character "Lin Dong" in "Martial Universe" is not a  serious guy. He is funny and sloppy, and sometimes he doesn't even following the rules. This role allowed him to completely let go of the burden of his good look and infuse his increasing life experience and accumulated performance experience in the role, which, in turn, allowed him to take control of great challenges.


生活里喜欢「舒服着来」的杨洋对表演不肯随便,他用了看起来很重的词:「这段时间演了、付出了,人生中的这一段就不会再有,一定要把更好状态的自己托付给一个更好的角色。」

YY who enjoys "comfort" in private life does not regard performance casually. He used words that seem pretty heavy/serious: "Once I acted and devoted myself during this period of time, it will never come again in my life. I must entrust myself in a better condition to a better role."


这样的心思其实有迹可循:因为没有经历过普通高校的恋爱,他一度把自己托付给了《微微一笑很倾城》的「肖奈」;因为想摆脱校园美男的刻板印象,他又把自己托付给了「茅十八」。但在一些人看来,这种托付多少显得所托非人 —— IP 改编的影视剧有大量读者基础,每个演员都要承受评价的腥风血雨。但习惯之后,杨洋反倒把路看得更清晰了。既然不可能每部戏都被好评,不如就踏实走好每一步,哪怕做一个笨拙的人,「笨拙的人代表他执着,执着的人一定会活出自己的领地」。

There are actually traces of this kind of thinking: because he did not experience ordinary high school romance, he once entrusted himself to "Xiao Nai" in the drama "Love o2o"; because he wanted to get rid of the stereotype of campus handsome guy, he entrusted himself to "Mao ShiBa". But in the eyes of some people, he seemed to entrusted himself to the wrong person -- Film and television dramas adapted from IP have a large readership base, and every actor has to endure the bloody storm of reviews. But once he got used to it, YY could see the road even more clearly. Since it is impossible for every work to be well received, it is better to take every step steadily, even if that makes you clumsy person. "A clumsy person means he is persistent, and a persistent person will definitely find a territory of his and thrive."


他拿攀登珠峰做例子,一步一步在雪地上留下脚印,「最后能插上自己的小旗子」。

He used climbing Mt. Everest as an example, leaving footprints one after another on the snowy ground, "I can put up my own little flag at the end."


这又是少年才会说的话了。

This, again, is something only a boy would say.
